The founder of our company, Kitsuji Katayama was, at the time of the Russo-Japan War, employed at Mitsui Products transporting materials to Manchuria. After the war ended, financial groups became bigger and more powerful, resulting in farmers becoming more and more dissatisfied with their situation, a situation that greatlly affected Katayama as he came to see the contradictions in the world. It was at this time, the farmers began to unite in protest, initiating the beginnings of the manufacturers union movement across Japan. Katayama was in sympathy with this movement, and even became friends with the leader of the manufacturers union.
It was at this time, through the rationalization of table vinegar, that his parents developed a ground-breaking, rich new vinegar. Through this new "Profitable Vinegar" Katayama was given the chance to play a part in the united movement, so began in 1918 to s
